NEW STUDIO
Since the first of June my studio is located in Art Gallery Lisa Hercules.
Located right in the center of Arnhem, this beautiful new space offers the perfect environment for my creative process. It gives me the dedicated room to work on my latest abstract textile artworks. It also gives the opportunity to showcase my work in this beautiful gallery.
Collaborating with Lisa Hercules opens up wonderful new possibilities. Together, we are focusing on curating cohesive, inspiring exhibitions where art, material, and space seamlessly come together.
Whether you want to get a glimpse of the making process or view the finished pieces, you are more than welcome to visit.

DUTCH DESIGN WEEK
PIET HEIN EEK
We are thrilled to announce that Studio Reinder Schmidt will be participating in this year's Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, taking place from October 17 to 25, 2026.
Exhibiting at the iconic Piet Hein Eek location, Studio Reinder Schmidt will unveil Textile Fragments, a brand-new, unique collection of abstract wall works that explores the intersection of textile, craftsmanship, and circular art.

AVAILABLE WORK
The abstract artworks transform textile remnants into structured canvases, driven by a commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship.
The process uses leftover fabric scraps from Dutch clothing and furniture manufacturing. These varied pieces are stitched together to create a rich, textured surface, then stretched on an aluminum frame.
A final coat of paint unifies the work, allowing the viewer to focus on the definition, patterns, and depth created by the underlying materials. The making process of the canvas becomes the art.
